I actually went the other way, converting from Albatross to Noodles. With the Albas, I had a 12cm stem and bar end shifters (although I think thumbies would be better). They felt very upright for me - hence the move to Noodles - but I can't figure out whether I just didn't take to the

IMO it's hard to beat the look and feel of the Albatross. I've set up my Sam with something like 6-7 different bars at this point; started with the Albatross and finally came back around to that setup a few months back. It seems like most newer bars that Riv makes come back extra far to

You will want a longer stem to move to sweptback. How much longer depends on which bars you choose. Unless you want to move to albastache in which case you can keep everything your noodles have. I like to go with a shorter stem when moving from drops to albastache. For conventional sweptback

I tried the VO post once but returned it. The clamp seems oddly short/small to me and I don't think that's a good thing long term. Plus, the setback is 30mm, that's not alot more than a typical 25mm. If you are darn sure you only need 5mm then go for it or the Dia-Compe Gran Compe one that has

The bearings spacing on most cassette hubs is no different from that of a freewheel hub. With the exception of Shimano and Mavic and a few small makers, all freehubs have the hub bearings under the flanges, more or less. As long as the axle is properly designed, that is not a problem. The
