Now there's an Idea... I have a book on doing a V8 swap into the chevy S10, why
doesn't someone write up a book on?a T2 swap into all the cars? I think it was
a publishing company called JTR (Jags That Run) Maybe start with something
broad like the T2 swap, then work on other more specialized
I'm the guy that always pops in to say Don't forget the trans mounts are
different! because I swapped everything over, talked with people on the list
who had done the swap, and talked me through everything, only to have the
transmission mount to the body not to line up correctly. Luckily I

Cause we remember before the neon head was grafted to the 2.2! That was years
ago, and look where we are now. And it's all thanks to the hobbyist who
wanted more power! We've come a long way.

Matt,
I had a similar problem with my 86 turbo Z. I thought the rack was held to
the column with a bolt or clip too, but it wasn't. What I did was position a
couple jackstands just below the K-Frame and tapped a little bit on the contol
arms with a hammer and it just wiggled out. When I
I gladly agree, Matt is a great guy to work with. I lost a money order for him
in my parents house fire, and he was nice enough to wait for me to get another
to pay for an item. He is excellent to deal with and I wouldn't think twice
about anything from him. I'll have to check and see if he has
I like it too but he got a little crazy with the orange paint

back in 98 when I got my first 86 turbo Z which had been in a field for 2
years before I got it, it was infested. I stripped the interior and it still
smelled, even with the interior out. the mice had gotten behind the dash and
into the air vents. I pulled the instrument cluster out last
Well I'm sitting here looking at my patment for working tonight my
fiancee's dad has a 2005 SRT4, and he upgraded his intercooler, so for helping
him
install it, he gave me the stock unit. Anyone out there put one in their 2.2
cars? this thing is WIDE and I'm wondering if its even worth
My 86 Daytona is in a funk of non-starting as well. I was going to wait till I
get a new battery for it next week, but I figured I'd ask the list. When I turn
the key, the fuel pump primes, the dash lights up, then I push the key to the
start position, and it dies. Everything shuts down. Of
Well, since my family is BIG into short track racing, and this summer I was
introduced to Pony Stocks I've been thinking long and hard about turning my
parts shadow into a contender. Anyone have an advice on it? I know I won't be
able to use the turbo motor but a NA 2.2 and I have most of the
hey gang, My car seems to have eaten another starter relay, this was a used
one so who knows if it was just a matter of time, but does Ma Mopar still have
them available or does it not matter and I should just go to a discount
autoparts store to get one? If I can still get them at a dealer,
well after searching what was left in my parents house after their house fire,
and my car, and the barn we stored everything in, my T-Top bags have come up
missing. My fiancie asked if she could make some new ones up for me, maybe
make them a little more personal with a logo or initials or
well gang I got some quality time with my 86 turbo Z this evening, and a
little bit better look at my transmission knock sounds. Of course I haven't
checked the flywheel bolts yet, I ran out of daylight, but the top shield
between
the engine and trans looks a little beat up, but it's beat out
Brings up a trivia question, what non-intercooled turbo cars did NOT have
the TURBO Electronic Fuel Injection chrome fender emblems? I have had 2,
Shelby Charger, and the 1988 Turbo Coupe LeBaron.
add the Daytona's to that list I have yet to see one with it... and my 87
Shadow ES didn't have
I cleaned out the trunk of my 87 shadow and found 2 hoses in sealed mopar
plastic bags. they also came with a pretty greasy dealership note that is
missing, as luck would have it, the part descriptions, but the date is 1998 so
they
aren't too old...
the part numbers and name on the bags are:
One of the first things I noticed was that this list is REALLY into drag
racing, and for me, it's not about racing at all... I like the looks of these
cars, and I like to just drive with them. I may take it to the track when I
feel the car is running perfect and is able to do the best it can
Hey group, I've got a couple transmissions laying around, and I've started to
trip over them while building my new garage. One is a 525 with a 3.56 final
drive ratio, and the other is a 520 with a 3.50 final drive ratio. I'm just
reading off the tags that are on them, I'll try to get pics
well gang, I've encountered an odd problem with my 86 Daytona... the drivers
door won't stay shut. I got to inspecting it today and found the door is
splitting, yes splitting, just below the latch. I'm not sure if this is my
problem,
but the passenger side which latches and stays closed is
I got my bosch rebuilt unit for $70 at murray's discount auto parts with a lifetime
warrenty... I had an old starter with me to match up to make sure it fit (like I
ALWAYS do at discount auto parts stores) so I also got out of the $25 core charge..
even has a heat shield built on! it really
Certainly the idea of cutting out and
grafting in an entire engine bay eliminates much of that problem, as it
literally includes all the necessary mount points for front IRS, only
now in the rear.
I was actually thinking about this earlier this summer.. has anyone cut the
shock towers out and
well last night I replaced the starter in my 86 Daytona T-Top Turbo Z, got it on the
ground and she fired right up. It was a great feeling to finally have my car back
running. I origanaly thought the turbo was toasted, but after running it up and down
the road a little it seems to build boost
I went to start my project crusing car today, and all i get is a click. I
know its not the starter, it's tested fine... the starter relay has a fuseable
link broke on it, but looks like its been broke a while. where does this go?
Could this be imy problem? if your looking at the car head on,
hey gang, I'm about to try something crazy. I have 2 cars that won't be on the road
ever again (I'm stripping them down) But I was thinking of rebuilding the brake master
cylinder out of one for my car... just for experience and to see if I can do it, but
does anyone have any hints for me? Or
Well I looked at the car last night... the mounting bracket is bolted to the block
nice and tight, and it's still way off. I got a belt on it,was straight on contact but
twisted between the pulleys and when I started the car, is came right off. I'm going
to try and put a different pump and
Has anyone modded a Shelby boost gauge out of a CSX into a daytona? I looked
and the connecting flanges are a little different, not to mention some of
the plastic would need to be cut away. I know a lot of people on the list will
get mad about using the numbered car parts for a car they made
