How can I AT> possibly solve this please? Thanks. As Thomas wrote you, cookies are seen as text, compare %cookie with the %put macro. However I see two options that might work for you: 1 Set every cookie in a separate file, list those files in your cookie.txt and call your cookie like this: %QInclude="%Cookie='%cookie'txt'" 2 Set all your cookies in a single file Use the %Run macro from the mymacros plugin to call an external randomiser like kookiejar that Gary mentioned in to store a signature in a file called cookie.tpl And call that cookie.tpl as a template with %Qinclude As I wrote those options 'might' work, I didn't try them, but I think they'd both do the job. Now that I've finished this message I thought of another option. 3 Create an outgoing filter that triggers on every message, enable 'continue processing with other filters' and set it as first filter, so it will be executed for every message. Set as action export to a file called cookie.tpl and set the export template as %cookie="cookie.txt" In the messages you want to use one of your cookies, be they text or macro, you use the macro %QInclude="cookie.tpl" Of course you need to take care of the proper paths in your macros, but this is guaranteed to work as you want. No third party programs, no big amount of separate cookie files or whatever. -- Groetjes, Roelof A noisy exhaust to some almost amounts to a mating call. http://www.voormijalleen.nl/ The Bat! 4.0.28.4 Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6001 Service Pack 1 3 pop3 accounts OTFE enabled Quad Core 2.4GHz 4 GB RAM pgp6woTmzn05I.pgp Description: PGP signature Current version is 4.0.24.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

You then use a PUT macro to insert the content of the text file into your message. For example, for a countdown to Christmas you could use the following VBScript: Dim Christmas, DaysToGo, Cookie, fso, f Christmas = CDate("25 December 2008") DaysToGo = DateDiff("d", Now, Christmas) If DaysToGo > 0 Then Cookie = DaysToGo & " days until Christmas" ElseIf DaysToGo < 0 Then Cookie = DaysToGo & " days since Christmas" Else Cookie = "Happy Christmas!" End If Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set f = fso.CreateTextFile("C:\temp\countdown.txt", True) f.Write Cookie f.Close Set f = Nothing Set fso = Nothing If you save that as (say) C:\temp\countdown.vbs you can call this with the command wscript c:\temp\countdown.vbs //B (//B suppresses any dialog boxes the script might show) You can run this as a scheduled task under Windows. In your template, include the macro: %PUT="C:\temp\countdown.txt" This should be easy to modify to get a "countdown cookie" for your own purposes. Just place a cookie macro: %COOKIE="C:\Mail\Cookies.txt" (where C:\Mail\Cookies.txt is the path of a text file with one cookie per line) at the point where you want the cookie to appear. This is how the cookie (tag line) got into the end of my sig. Since you can configure this only for folders and or groups for which you want to use cookies, and also use different sets of cookies for different recipients, I suspect this might be more flexible than KookieJar. I just have to path to them. I use a different one for different mail groups that I am in via address book templates. I am not sure if there is a limit, as I have seen some that are quite long - several lines. A carriage return marks the end of each separate "quote". If you want to have a line break within a quote use "\n" Try it :) -- Rick Republicans are heartless v4.0.28.4 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3 Current version is 4.0.24.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

How can I make one like that? That being done with the %Cookie macro, in my case I'm using this: %Cookie="%MailDir\t-shirt.txt" I've got a cookie file that's called (for historical reasons) t-shirt.txt That file is located in my mail directory. The contents of that file are cookies, each on a single line and the cookie macro picks them at random. It's also possible to place the cookies at the account properties (Account -> Properties -> Templates -> Cookies) and those are used when you use the %Cookie macro without any reference to a file. (See the help file) For maintenance reasons I prefer my cookies in a separate, where they're accessible for all accounts and that makes it easier to use multiple cookie sets for use in different situations. For example, when I'm sending an official moderator message to this list, I'm using a special cookie file with moderator related cookies. -- Groetjes, Roelof Women, like rabbits, will hop into bed at night. http://www.voormijalleen.nl/ The Bat! 4.0.28.4 Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6001 Service Pack 1 3 pop3 accounts OTFE enabled Quad Core 2.4GHz 4 GB RAM pgp9eO8H3kDRb.pgp Description: PGP signature Current version is 4.0.24.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
