Hi All
I have just tried the original Raspberry Pi WIFI dongle on a new PCP
3.10 as replacement of the onboard Wifi.
So PCP was working on Wifi, Internal adapter was disabled and PCP was
restarted with the external dongle.
Unfortunately the device is not recognised as network adapter. (
Not disabling the internal one does not give us 2 working wlan
interfaces, it seems to recognise the internal one only.
If both were recognised we might have had a chance to only configure the
external one.
For me the reason for using this external one was twofold:

Aplay -l and squeezelite -l do not show the cirrus driver/card entries
like raspbian jessie does

Please fix your router to use channel 1 and retry. Just to eliminate;
sometimes the high channels do clash with the WIFI drivers.

Myself I stopped streaming from my phone, It drains too much battery,
and I simply transferred all music to the LMS inside my pi.
But your mileage may vary , and it might suit your needs.

Perhaps you can try a bit more buffering in the squeezelite output.
I had similar output issues in the past , before using i2s soundcards
and pcp.
So change ALSA_PARAMS="80:4::1:" to ALSA_PARAMS="160:4::1:" and see if
on, if there are options.
BTW Tibali, Great work ! I will order some missing parts and experiment
with your Slimmer setup. Probably adding a second rotary controller for
dedicated volume-up -down and pause/play.

g from Network or USB memory does need reads from usb and writes
to usb devices, hence double USB transport.
It might support my hypotheses, and give us more insight.
And you could eliminate the LCD , and test jivelite over HDMI or
Composite Video.

The card is working, I use it in 2 systems. Hias did some
rds does confirm my card is one of
the most rare exotic ones.
But I assume it can be created now there is a system to recognise and
configure them.
Have you got any tips or templates to build support for this obvious

I rather not just rewrite /etc/asound.conf but delay parts till my
driver is installed with a manual tweak.
The real solution would be to get the driver started correctly. Till
then I have to work on the workarounds.

Be aware that the RPI3 and Zero-W onboard Wifi isn't the most stable
solution in PCP.
Add a 3 Euro well supported USB device and wait till the driver issue is
resolved over the next years.

I've got a partially working .conf file for the Cirrus Logic Audio Card
I need to complete and test.
For this moment it shows up in the gui dropdown list, and after choosing
the new option and rebooting the set it comes up with a working setup.
However, adding the alsa equal breaks it and shows
we can test PCP as If the driver would have
started normally.
Most of the issues seem to be caused by missing stuff at start up.
BTW starting the stuff manually does give me a working setup, both with
and without Alsa equal, and with and without disabled Rpi analogue
sou
to check in that part of the process.

Based on my own search I presume /opt/bootsync.sh is the best place to
add system stuff before PCP script is started from /opt/bootlocal.sh
However the modprobe even if called through /sbin/modprobe is not
working.
Any hints ?

During final tests we did not encounter any issues, and even the
original wolfson card was tested with success.

Samsung phones have the cast build into the player. the older ones at
least.
Other phones need one of the free DLNA apps.
Give it a go, If you can reach your set through wifi, you do not need

regardless of the connection to a wifi network?

I remembered to get net-usb installed to recognise the hardware but on
this 6.00.B1 attempt it did not work.
Perhaps the repository version isn't matching this build?
Can anyone remind me on the correct way to install USB nic support?

Indeed, the card is just a bit less than 128MB.
I will try and fiddle with partition sizes, and see if it can fit a
basic player s
th a dac, sound quality at low levels is noticeably beter than the
software dac in the pi.
This enables you to reduce volume of the pi, and do not need to grab a
remote IR controller for that.
