I've noticed a few times that the wifi goes disconnects for a few
minutes then reconnects. I am not sure though if this is caused by the
router or the phone.

I have never tried to do what you are doing, but I know that AirDrop will not
work unless the airdrop window for your Mac is open before you initiate the
