Hello Jim, If you got an iPHone 7 right after they came out, you've had it for 2 and a half years or so. It's not at all surprising if the battery is starting to fail. Replacing a battery is a lot cheaper than replacing a phone. I have no idea about the speaker sound. You might want to take it

Maybe I am not understanding what you consider a restart. It is similar to doing a restart on a PC. Which model phone are you using? The method is different beginning with the seven from all prior models. A re-set puts the phone back into factory condition and erases all your settings and data.
