Hi Anna, That is interesting, I have a few shortcuts as well, my problem is that when I want to use them half the time I forgot what I recorded as a phrase to trigger them! I'll have to do some testing and see if they don't work on my new iPhone 8 which still has the Beta profile on it. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Anna Dresner Sent: Friday, December 7, 2018 9:23 AM To: VIPhone Mailing List Subject: Re: Siri Shortcuts broken in 12.1 Hi Sieghard, I rolled the iPad back to iOS 12.1 on Tuesday to see if I would still have the problem with Siri shortcuts. Re: Siri Shortcuts broken in 12.1
Hi Sieghard, I rolled the iPad back to iOS 12.1 on Tuesday to see if I would still have the problem with Siri shortcuts. I didn't. So on Wednesday when iOS 12.1.1 came out, I installed it on the iPad and restored my backup, and Siri shortcuts still worked. They weren't working on my phone, so I decided to remove the provisioning profile and load iOS 12.1.1 and see if the shortcuts problem would go away. It did. I probably wouldn't have deleted the provisioning profile except that I really wanted to fix the shortcuts problem. First, given the list of bugs, it is almost like they rebuilt the app. I have some My Tuner Radio shortcuts working. I have one Pandora shortcut working and one that doesn't. They all worked prior to this month. So, maybe they will all work eventually, or not. It almost isn't worth it. HI Anna, My client nor I are running the betas, so something is fishy somewhere. I think I will simply wait until 12.1.1 or whatever they are going to call it comes out and hope that by yours and others alerting them, it gets fixed. I found that I had the same problem with my iPad that was running the beta, but not with my 5s which wasn't. So I assumed it was a beta issue until I heard from you. I called Apple Accessibility, and the guy I spoke with was great. He had me try Siri with Wi-Fi turned off and then reset network settings. None of that helped. He also tried accessing a shortcut with Siri on his device with VoiceOver off and with VoiceOver on, and everything worked normally both times. So he asked me to roll a device back to iOS 12.1. I did that with my iPad, and Siri shortcuts worked normally. I would suggest calling Apple Accessibility and hoping you won't get the person Richard got. Most people there should be able to walk you through sending in the diagnostic information they need to figure out what's going on. Re: Siri Shortcuts broken in 12.1
I put this question on another list that I am on, and one person, who doesn’t live in the US, replied that the shortcuts are still working for him. Thus far, that is the only useful response I have gotten from that other list. This is very strange. Re: Siri Shortcuts broken in 12.1
Mary, I'm not sure it is either exactly. The Shortcuts app was updated 4 weeks ago according to the app store. So, since both iOS 12.1 and the app were updated longer ago than yesterday, maybe it is a server issue with Siri or something really odd. I would encourage everyone to write Apple since clearly, they are clueless that something has gone very wrong. Re: Siri Shortcuts broken in 12.1
I believe that it is an update to the Shortcuts app itself, that is why Siri shortcuts are broken, and it is very uncool. So, I do not think that it is the version of IOS, but rather, the shortcuts app that is broken On 12/4/18, Mary Otten wrote: > Hi richard, > Well mine don’t work either. Re: Siri Shortcuts broken in 12.1
Hi richard, Well mine don’t work either. But it doesn’t seem to be dependent on voiceover being off or on. And it didn’t start with iOS 12.1, since they did work after I updated. Only yesterday, they stopped. So I don’t know what it is. But I don’t think it’s the latest iOS, and it isn’t voiceover either, because if I turn voiceover off and try to do a shortcut, it doesn’t work. Not that we shouldn’t write Apple. I can’t believe this problem has it been all over the tech press. It’s really annoying.
