Chris, I recommend you upgrade to iOS 6 post haste. Whilst you will get Apple Maps thrown in, the recently re-released Google maps app is now available and free and is even better than the iOS 5 version. So you won't have to bother with the flawed and frankly less functional Apple Maps app
