Yes, thats why a 802.11b amp can't be used with G radios. But making a G compatible Amp is standard protocol, when made for that purpose. They just aren't interchangable between technologies.  RFLinxs has a nice "G" amp.  Yes you are right, an 800W on B, jumps down to about 250W on G. Part o

Remember that if you use a 1 watt amp you are only allowed a 6dB antenna   Does it need to be ofdm capable?  ofdm typically screws with amps.  (try to get your amp vendors to admit this though.)  ie:  Put in a 1 watt amp for 802.11b and then put an 802.11g ap on it.  Your amp output will
