Gary,
One possibility to check what they might have answered is running two instances
of WSJT-X in parallel, one v2.0.0 and one v1.9.1. I am doing that and saw that
a number of others seems to do it as well. Can be helpful, as there are
currently lots of 75 bit messages above 2 KHz as well as
Maybe it would help if there was a setting to keep the contest window
sorted by callsign. This might not help as much once that list gets very
large, but I think it would help the casual contester. (This is a
suggestion for a future release, not 2.0)

A new group has been formed where we can discuss RTTY and/or FT8 or any other
form of digital DXing or contesting. This should help lighten the load on the
RTTY, WSJT, and WSJT Software Development groups.

I'm aiming my messages at the users of previous RCs who can copy my 77 bit

I'm glad you're on it. It sure seems that WSJT-X has a solid technical core

Helpful to whom, Uwe? When I'm hoping for 77 bit QSOs, I don't see much
purpose in coding and sending or receiving and decoding 75 bit messages.
Besides which, it would be tricky for me to run both WSJTX and JTDX at the same
time since they both want to grab the sound card and radio, and

became hard to remember who I'd worked and therefore difficult to see an

Contesters tend to make the QSO and log the dupe since it takes less time than
to inform someone they are a dupe and they may have broken your call when they
logged the previous QSO which is probably why they do not know they are a dupe.
In FT8 though, what are the chances of a broken call

I installed my first version of 2.0 (rc5) about 3 hours before

I have noticed a lot of activity on 30 & 60M. In fact 60M has a lot of
activity. However, these are evening bands.
17M is very active during the day and 15M has a fair amount of activity as
well.

this is possibly a result of different MUF in those areas.

There were a few times I wasn't watching JT-Alert where I started a

This looks very similar to what I'm seeing here in Dallas, Texas. I see
many people receiving my signal in NA and EU, but I'm not decoding much. I
think there are a lot of unattended stations sending reports to the PSK
Reporter.

John and all who are discussing the contest dupe issue. Here is my solution

support this overcrowded problem. There is a lot of CQers but it is really hard

We are free to use these different modes anywhere the band plans allow them.
The major issue is that there are still users of the other modes that “live” in

I am very thankful and appreciative to the administrators of Winter Field Day
for allowing FT8 asa Digital mode in the January 2019 running of the event.
Even before the publicity of the DecemberQST article, this event has been
growing by leaps and bounds every year.
This has been discussed on the list already.
