Hint: with some vpn's you still need to add a static route to each other to
truly gain "full functionality". However I don't think the issue you are
having is a sipx issue, rather its a VPN/firewall configuration issue.

You should add a static route to each other, and a DNS forwarder for the
sipx host and sip domain in the remote user firewall. If you can also add
dhcp options it will be touch less for the phone. We so it all the time.
