I find Pennsylvania a fascinating place to photograph trains as most of the
state is rich in railroad history,? offers a variety of scenery and no shortage
of trains with Conrail, CSX and shortlines.? Reading has long been an idea that
I've wanted to explore but was intimidated by a lack of knowledge of the area.?
As I recall Rob and I shot around 23 trains on the day of my visit.? Although
we shot a nice variety of locations, I could see that we only scratched the
surface.? There a variety of bridge shots, S curves,? scenes with older
industrial backgrounds and some nice elevated shots. Thanks to Rob's intimate
knowledge of the area I came away satisfied and eager to return.? If you like
shooting today's railroads in a classic setting,? Reading is a great area.
This is a great topic we have going now and I'm printing out the descriptions
to incorporate some these spots into future road trips.
