Greg, NFPA 13 recognizes that under certain conditions, partial sprinkler systems may be installed as allowed or required by other standards or codes. Section 8.1 and 8.1.1 (07) along with A.8.1 and A.8.1.1 and the commentary in the handbook will give you the details.
