Tim: To respond to your questions about what the forum should be, I think it should be a little bit of everything you mentioned. I don't think the forum is TOO political, after all where can regular citizens go to discuss issues that concern them amongst themselves. I think it can also be a little of everything, as long as it relates to Saint Paul. And I don't really think that the discussions have been overly partisan. I don't think much of the discussion has drawn party lines, but has been more about personal opinion irrespective of the parties. Political, perhaps. Partisan, not really.
I think though we should think about perhaps forming discussion groups within the list, so that any one issue does not monopolize. That way, those who wish to continue a discussion that everyone else is tired of can do so, in an offshoot egroup. I don't know how that would work or be set up, but it might help direct traffic a little better and keep the main list a clearing house of all sorts of information.
