I agree with what you said about these clones. I've actually been running OSX since July, 2002, if I remember right. I also have a similar problem to Alans... I have an expensive scanner, Agfa Duoscan, that won't run in X with any of the available scanner software and the mfr has not done anything about it. I got hold of a second S900 about a year ago and using 9.1, hooked it up to run the scanner. It's easy to move a scanned image over the network so that I can use Photoshop CS to edit. I also use that S900 for faxing since the fax software in 9.1 is really good.
