I first had her open the "Folder Properties" from the "Edit" menu
and do a "repair folder." It took almost FIVE minutes to repair the
Inbox. Since it took that long, I asked how many messages she had in
the Inbox folder? She replied that she only had about twenty since she
had lost most of them.

I then had her view the contents of the Sent folder thinking that
when she went back to the Inbox folder her files might have returned. I
asked her how many messages were in the Sent folder? She said 2000!!!!
When I picked myself off the floor, I told her she needed to keep her
folders contents at a much lower level.

Ken, I know for a fact that I have over 42 000 messages in my inbox
alone, and if I reply to only one in ten that suggests I have over
4000 in my "Sent" folder. Whilst I would not dream for one second
of suggesting that you might be barking up the wrong tree, I do not
believe that 2000 messages in a "Sent items" folder can in any way
be viewed as excessive, and if Seamonkey cannot handle such a number
without potential risk of failure then I think we should all start
looking for a better e-mail client.

Incidentally, how was she able to identify the fact that she had
2000 messages in her "Sent items" folder ? Right-clicking on
mine fails to disclose any useful statistics whatsoever.
