Thanks for your response. That was exactly my opinion when I first saw
what was happening.
On re-examination what is happening is:
Syndic8 feed ID 59903 points to
<http://www.thebloomsbury.com/bloomsbury.rss>. This URI is redirected
by a htaccess file to Feed Burner
<http://feeds.feedburner.com/Bloomsbury>. It seems that the HTML
redirection code is (if I understand correctly) implemented by our
(thebloomsbury.com) Apache server, before it gets to Feed Burner who
are formatting valid XML code.
If this is so (and this would seem to make sense), the Syndic8 parser
seems to be tagging on HTML to the beginning of the (hopefully valid)
XML file that is not part of that file, but part of a server
redirection. This extra HTML code is causing the Syndic8 parser to
fail. See
<http://www.syndic8.com/feedinfo.php?
FeedID=59903&Section=xml&SummaryID=3282&Mode=show>, and lines 1-7 of
the XML view to view the code Syndic8 is trying to parse.
I haven't (yet) found another RSS feed checker that has failed this
feed <http://www.thebloomsbury.com/bloomsbury.rss> in this way.
So, I suppose my question is - Is it possible to make Syndic8 support
redirection to feeds?
