200 byte 302 note vs. 15 kb RSS feed? Sounds like a bandwidth savings to me. Plus it's handled in Apache, so there's no need to process anything from a database, so you're saving processor power, etc. Anyway, I ran into the same problem a few months ago: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/syndic8/message/4028 . The way HTTP redirection is *supposed* to work is: 1. Server sends 302 response with new location and brief explanatory document. 2. Client discards document and retrieves file from new location. Syndic8 is not properly handling step 2 -- it should be discarding that brief document, just as Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, or any web browser on the planet will.
