IMO, this is a very narrow view and one to which I take exception.

I am a 44 YO female; born and raised in the southern US. In my late
20s, I moved to Northern Utah. Utah is a very religious, very male-
dominated culture.

I didn't take up golf or begin wearing shirts with alligators and polo
ponies on the pockets. I didn't begin attending church or stop
drinking coffee so I would fit in. I worked my butt off for 9 years and
proved I had the brains, organization skills, and leadership qualities
to professionally manage a group of people as well as a product
line.

I am the first female manager in the company. I didn't get here
because I was "one of the pack", nor am I the "token female". I got
here because they looked at past performance and knew that I
could do it and do it well.

Respectfully,

Dana W.
