Thank you for replying. I may try OpenERP again, some day. But right now, the product does not seem ready for prime-time. Three major problems, I have encountered:
1) OpenERP is too difficult to evaluate. I would love to give openerp a try, and see if it would work for me. Unfortunately, that has proven to be much too difficult. I am told I must spend a lot money and/or time, to even try openerp. It is as if I want to test drive a car, and I am told I need to spend $500 to drive it around the block. 2) IMO: OpenERP's system for modules is a mess. It seems to me that old modules, new modules, working, not working, redundant, useless, whatever, are just thrown in the same bucket and left for users to sort out. I can never know beforehand if a particular module will work with a particular version, or if a module will work at all. And even if a module does work, what happens when a new version of OpenERP is released? This system may work for a lightweight CMS like Joomla, but financial data is too critical. 3) Inadequate documentation. I simply do not have time to play games with endless trial and error. -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openerp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=24997#24997 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman/listinfo/tinyerp-users
