Walter, OpenERP is ready for prime-time. Hundreds of companies and people are
using it everyday in their work.

As Foggy pointed out, OpenERP is a complex set of software. This requires
education to understand. No one on the forum is going to be able to respond to
a "How do I get started?" question. Get started with what? OpenERP can do
many many things.

This is not true. When you install the OpenERP the modules that are included
have been vetted by a quality team. And yes, there are many partners that
contribute modules that you can add to the base install to customize how the
ERP performs for you. But you have to realize that there are so many
combinations that it would not be physically possible to test every module with
every combination of every other module/modules.

OpenERP is a great framework for building applications. It's a toolset. To
become a craftsman you are going to either have to spend a good deal of time
yourself in learning about it. Or you can purchase some of the books that have
been written or you can sign up for some of the training that is offered by
partners.

Otherwise, if you just need something like a simple accounting app then maybe
that's what you should be seeking.

Regards,
Gerry
