DirecTV says you MUST have a your HD receiver hooked into a landline phone line in order to get service. They say the same thing about their other services and they work just fine without a phone line.
Well, I don't have a landline. Would they hook me up with an HD TiVo without the phone line? Newsweek lied. People died. Bush spied, terrorists died.
