Agreed, understand by doing, rather than by trying to understand.
It's like not driving a car until you understand totally how one works.
You only need to know how to drive it.
To strain the car analogy. Try writing to the list how to drive a car,
so that anyone who has never driven one will be able to understand it
and instantly drive.
Hard? Impossible?
Yet we are expecting this ease of use and understandability from Dennis
when it comes to the human mind, which is way more complex than any car.
Dennis gave us the guide book, the manual, it's up to us to put it
together and run with it, or not. It is a miracle of clarity and
simpleness in it's description of the most complex system known to man.
Tokyo was nothing like what I imagined from reading the lonely planet guide.
So I am suing Lonely Planet. And refusing to ever go there again?
That would be crazy. Wouldn't it?

I think his point is that once you've gotten well into levels 3 4 and
5, you'll be welcoming the chance to " have " material to time break
. There's not much if anything in the environment or what others will
do or say to you that will bother you in the least. You'll just see it
as noise and bluster and walk the other way.
That's the purpose for using levels four and five. To find material to
time break. The exercises will produce material for TBing when done
correctly and your RI is topped off.
Its all about running RI to get the Levels 4 and 5 commands to produce
materials until you need RI running again. I run RI before during and
after but my sessions still don't last more than 30 minutes from the
time I start RI, do L5 and finish with RI.
Its not that the materials in TROM are too complicated to understand,
Its just that some will make it more complicated and then use that as
a " reason " for not using TROM and then blame the author ( Dennis )
for all kinds of overts. TROM is incredibly simple when its used
correctly.

You owe a very pleasant thank you to anyone that activates the content
of you reactive mind. They are giving you a freebie. When a bully
kicks sand on you at the beach and you go ballistic in response
you know
from the TROM material that this is a hot game for you. Timebreak the
game and your reaction to it until it is completely unimportant to
you.
This is the low hanging fruit, the targets of opportunity of
life that
another is serving up to you. Thank them and timebreak your minds
content.
It doesn't matter that others are saying unpleasant things to
others or
to you. It only matters that you timebreak your reaction and
thank them
for helping you find another hot item.

Pete - Thanks for the reminder. However when a vacuum cleaner salesman
tells me that he is concerned about the dust in my house - I know that
he is only truly interested in the commission he is hoping to get from
the sale.
When someone tries to persuade me to their point of view and uses
ad-hominem tactics - then I must ask myself whether they want me
to see
their point of view or sympathize with their victim status or are they
intent on elevating their own status by denigrating others.
I am certainly not completely free of "irateness" or emotion. I have a
large family who provide a great many opportunities for
"time-breaking"
LOL or resolve by applying that first datum in TROM of doing
consciously
what the reactive is doing subconsciously.
I don't think its too much to expect that those studying TROM actually
study in a new unit of time and if they don't agree with something or
can't understand some aspect they should ask for clarification on
the list.
To allow anyone to assume some altitude of "I am better" or have
greater
knowledge and therefor consider TROM or Dennis or whoever as beneath
them is not conducive to enlightenment or elucidation and they should
not be allowed to use this list to forward some hidden agenda.
Having concern for an adversary would include realizing the intent of
the adversary and indicating that his intent was not as hidden as he
supposedly thought.
Most are on this list to gain insight and enlightenment. Over the
years
we have had isolated posters who had other agenda's. They were more
detractive than destructive and fell by the wayside. They did succeed
for a while in distracting from the purpose of the list.
The criticism that TROM is difficult to understand may have some
validity as Dennis used an approach based on "logic" which is eschewed
by Hubbard in Scientology - He promoted the use of "illogics" to
identify "out-points" as he referred to them.
After studying TROM - the latter day "illogics" of Scientology become
glaringly obvious. The early tech remains valid. By early tech I mean
the tech which was developed for individual enhancement and not for
group collective power.
I do understand the problem ex-scientologists have with TROM. Been
there
done that. The statement "Been there done that" and my criticism of
latter day Scientology is in itself a statement of altitude for
which I
apologize. I am more than willing to give detail should anyone ask.
