Hi Martin,                Jan. 6/11

I love your evaluation.  One thing I still haven't resolved though.  Can you
elucidate to me what I should do if I see a mugger beating up an old lady to
steal her money, or worse yet, just for the thrills.  I know that she is
motivating and postulated it, and so forth, but it's still wrong for him to
do this, and for her to 'receive' this.  If it's life threatening to her,
should I go over and knock his bloody lights to kingdom come?  Surely I
can't just allow it to happen, otherwise haven't I commited a contrasurvival
action of omission 'overt'?  This is a very wide encompassing philosophical
point I've wondered upon for a long time.
