"X" was a benchmark available at the time. I am not certain, but I think it was written and published by Ultimate. Assuming my memory is correct on that, a 2X ADDS machine would be one that ran the Ultimate benchmark twice as fast as the original Ultimate machine did.

Maybe someone with a better memory has more details. Anybody have a copy of the old X benchmark laying around?
