Hi Artur

Personally I dont have any wish for anything to change in the direction
your post speaks of. I have no need for an app that is the pipeline
favourite of ILM and just about any other Cecil B. De Mille type VFX "cast
of thousands" studio.

I have no ambition to be a pipeline component in some mega-VFX
"blockbuster" that had a massive twenty seconds of fame on the silver
screen ... so I have no need to be top of the heap with Autodesk et al,
type apps and plugins.

RS for me, is better termed a "boutique app" but that description might be
local to my country's use of the term "boutique". It is an excellent
generalist app that has a steep learning curve (for me it did) but is all
that I need. More than all I need.

It does not have the social chat thing for groupies nor glossy in-yer-face
"next generation" (an absurd term if ever there was one) brand packaging
everywhere you look. And I'm happy not to be paying for that kind of
rubbish. In fact I wouldn't bother.

It depends exactly on what your needs are I suppose :-)
