Marco,

I double-checked what there is available to indicate that a post is from a
non-subscriber: Nothing.

The moderation acceptance of an unsubscriber-post is not accompanied by
anything that qualifies the post as seen on the list.

There are many messages that can be customized and added to posts, but
moderation-acceptance has no such feature.

I would be interested in any contributions about practices or conventions that
would improve support for users who are not subscribed and send in questions.

Suggestions for technical solutions are not anything I will do anything about.
I would like something that would work as a community practice. It is
possible to create a FAQ and also post it to the list periodically so folks
who inhabit the list will see it. And it is useful to have something on a web
site that can be linked to from the standard footer that is added to posts.
That is something moderators can modify.

This discussion might be better on ooo-users@ incubator.apache.org, of course.

 The one problem that I
am aware of is the inability for folks to know whether a post is from a
non-subscriber or not. There are also folks who are subscribers who get
pissed off if they are CC:-ed on list posts, yet that is the best way to
indicate that there is something related to them in a list post. [ ... ]
