I suppose that would be the way to do it. Unfortunately, you cannot simply edit the default style in the style editor, so that bit is confusing. You *can* however do a mass change by: Tools|Options|OpenOffice.org Writer|Basic Fonts (Western) and change it there - that will do the trick. Select "Current document only" so that it doesn't make a default change for later documents. However, why would I want to do that? If I insert a new page for say, a letter, the default character style will now be the same as that used for the labels, so I need to create a new "alternate default" for the rest of the document... is this correct? Is there a way to apply the new default character style only to the page that the label is on rather than the entire document? For the reasons that Peter pointed out I find using tables considerably easier & more flexible. But, I'm certainly willing to learn & try the frames method as well :-) For the OP: the Avery site is now working again. In addition to the table formated template that I pointed you do previously, you can now go to avery.com and download their preformatted (table) versions. http://www.avery.com/ Software Templates from the menu bar Blank template libary Labels Return Address Labels --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
