if you want to help people, you have to demand a minimul level of
cooperation. Knowing what a mailing list is, how to subscribe,
etc... is too much for most OOo newbies, I agree on that. Doing the
equivalent of "Please tell me as soon as possible what your problem
is" is very different.
And this terror of anything which may even remotely be conceived as
"punishing" poor unexperienced users is exactly what has driven away
from this kind of support many experienced ones for years. It is this
kind of management which punishes unexperienced users, because it
bothers away from them the most competent teachers.
