Hear, hear! These comments apply to cold fusion, as well. The situation is very similar. Non-experts (both scientists and laymen) are dismissing research by Fleischmann, Bockris and other experts, without studying the research and in most cases without any relevant knowledge.
They should continually be confronted with the question of exactly what forthcoming facts would convince them they are wrong . . .
Exactly the same goes for cold fusion "skeptics." What would it take to convince them? Some have said nothing less than a cold fusion powered automobile will do. This is unreasonable. The goal is set beyond reach.
You'd think it would be *common sense* for a layman to have *some degree of doubt* when a large majority of scientists in a very active field have a contrary opinion, especially when public safety is at stake.
Exactly right! And the same goes for cold fusion. - Jed
