About this: we currently have .hpp files listed in *_SOURCES. AFAICT
it is not needed, they only need to be listed as noinst_HEADERS - I
checked this at work on a new project, and that works fine. I intend
to fix this if noone has a complelling reason not to do so.

What about documenting any prerequisites in methods as leading
wassert's ? Anyone has a better way ? More generally speaking, it
would be great to be able to check those prerequisites statically.
Not sure there are any free tools for this sort of job available yet,
though.
Best regards,
