Blue Hills Trail report...
This late taste of winter is providing
the best skiing of the season.
Much of the trail system was groomed (rolled) today (Sunday, March 10);
a shallow striding lane was set in some areas
. Conditions
were very good to excellent skating freshly packed powder with
sunshine and temperatures in the teens. Friday night's rain crystallized
the trees, the base has absorbed the rainfall and has become firm with
an assist from the cold temperatures, and skiers today had fun dodging
the ice-coated branches lining the trail. A gorgeous day to be outside
.
Grooming will be completed Monday, March
11 after our groomer gets a well-deserved overnight rest.
