Yes, I always tell people to start practicing zazen "For all the 
wrong reasons."  Do it to be healthier, reduce stress, increase 
focus, decrease anxiety etc. etc.  Becuase I'd rather see them do it 
for those reasons than not do it at all.   Eventually then they 
do "get it."
