I certainly understand that, though I thought we had a zip file squirreled

I also checked the Finnish page as we also had a request on the list for that

Finnish has no translated download page...

Somewhere(TM) I think it is noticed that we require the main and the

Everything else is optional (but certainly useful).

Yes, Oleksiy received my welcome message and did try a password reset
several times but received no mail. Of course he checked the SPAM folder.

I even tried a password reset myself and did not get any mail.

Maybe there is some process hanging on the Pootle server...

Hi Oleksiy,

Before I forget to say it:

Since you are using a gmail account, some mails from our Pootle server

Translated text for the Microsoft Store App

2022-05-02 Thread Matthias Seidel
Hi all,

Sorry to bother you again, but since 4.1.12 now will be a Maintenance
release we need to adjust the Microsoft Store App:

"Apache OpenOffice 4.1.12 is a Maintenance release incorporating bug
fixes and other enhancements. All users of Apache OpenOffice 4.1.11 or
earlier are advised to upgrade."

This needs to be translated to:

 - Finnish
 - French
 - Italian
 - Dutch
 - Polish
 - Portuguese

Thanks in advance!

This is in the Microsoft Store app on Windows 10/11? The Store Listing

I can't check it because the store always defaults to the language of
the OS or falls back to English if there is no translation available...

If you are interested, I can send you a short list of the strings that

Updated Windows builds

2022-01-08 Thread Matthias Seidel
Hi all,

Just FYI, I uploaded new Windows builds (AOO42X) for some unreleased
languages:

https://home.apache.org/~mseidel/AOO-builds/AOO-420-L10n/

No new translation, just the current code base.

That is an interesting combination, since we don't offer an Armenian
download yet.

What do you see, when you open the Windows Store and look for AOO? Do
you have an Armenian Windows?

Normally the Store defaults to the language of the OS, so I can't test
it for other languages than German.

Apache OpenOffice available in the Microsoft Store

2021-12-21 Thread Matthias Seidel
Hi all,

Apache OpenOffice has already been in the new Microsoft Store on Windows
11 since October.
With the App update in November, the new store is also available on
Windows 10.

In the store, Apache OpenOffice is free to download in 38 languages, but
the Store Listings are only localized in English, French, German,
Italian, Polish and Portuguese.

Any volunteers who want to add more languages?

That was "just" a bad Pootle import. A lot of strings were "translated"
by Pootle.

You can always find your old translations in the timeline (may be called
different, just translated from German) below the entry field.

Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope Mechtilde can solve this problem for
the next import.

Hi,

This is due to an older bug, see:

This bug will be fixed in the next release.

What you now see is the original text from the NSIS installer.

These are the corresponding Polish texts in Pootle:

I don't know how LO handles this.
Even though it is a fork of OpenOffice.org the strings might differ a
lot now.

However, you will need to ask at LO...

But I doubt that the strings from OOo 2.3 are really helpful for the

To be able to translate Apache OpenOffice, we need to add the language

"Older releases":

You are welcome!

We have two possibilities to help with translation: The website and
OpenOffice itself.
What would you be interested in?

BTW: We have no Ukrainian release version for AOO 4.1.x, but you may
want to test 4.2.0-Dev2:

The logic of the page for the drop-down menu is that we only have
languages listed we have a release for...
So you (and others) will have to wait until we have a release with new
languages added, sorry.

@Marcus: Is there something we can do? Last time I added a language the
redirection was broken.

I don't think Tigran has an Apache id to link with GitHub.

However, the GitHub account is all he needs at the moment.

@Tigran:

Let's begin with brand.md:

https://github.com/apache/openoffice-org/blob/main/content/hy/brand.md

Click on the "pencil" on the right side to edit.

When you have finished translation, go further down to "Commit changes".
I think "Create a *new branch* for this commit and start a pull
request." is the only option you have at the moment.

A pull request can still be changed and discussed before someone does
merge it.

We have several places that would need attention.

Our webpage:

https://www.openoffice.org/ca/
https://www.openoffice.org/es/

OpenOffice itself (UI and Help):

https://translate.apache.org/ca/aoo40/
https://translate.apache.org/ca/aoo40help/

https://translate.apache.org/es/aoo40/
https://translate.apache.org/es/aoo40help/

Plus we have ca-XR and Ca-XV (UI and Help)

Let me know if I can help you.

Great!

The code for the Armenian webpages is here:

https://github.com/apache/openoffice-org/tree/main/content/hy

and:

https://github.com/apache/openoffice-org/tree/main/assets/hy

Do you have a GitHub account? If so, you can update the files and create

There are certainly some greats exceptions to these, where many of the
sections have be translated, so props to those whom have translated
 previously.

It seems that the best organization to the pages is https://
www.openoffice.org /ABC/ rather than what some translations have done,

I have done my initial investigation using the site Website Links Count

I will just need the link to the source, but I assume I can just inspect
the en-US page and copy-paste to create the translations...

This will actually be quite a simple task to complete. Thank God.

To start with I can do the 'MAIN PAGE' and the 'DOWNLOADS PAGE'

Then, the next stage would/could be,
 PRODUCT
 SUPPORT
 EXTENSIONS
 PROJECTS
 PRIVACY
 CONTACT US
 DONATE
 ect

I doubt it is wise to translate the "Copyright & License" pages at this
 time.

 Fun, fun 

When these webpages are re-newed then they have to be updated with the

But what I can see is that your translations are preserved in the timeline.

You can access the timeline ("Zeitplan anzeigen" in German) via the
