Re: NailTech:: The Shellac Just Peeled Off My Nails! Really?

2012-04-13 Thread michelle clem
I believe your customer probably did pick the shellac of however, I have tried
it on myself and it does peel off of my nails. My natural nails also do not
hold polish very well at all. My natural nails are very very thin and weak.

Subject: NailTech:: The Shellac Just Peeled Off My Nails! Really?

Hi Teks,
  My rant for today:
I had a new client come in last Friday to have the shellac put on.  I did
the usual manicure and prep, and applied the shellac like I have been doing it
(successfully!) for the last 2 years.  So.. the client calls me today, and asks
me if I have time to fix a couple of nails.  huh?  FIX!?  What do you mean by
fix?  Client:  Well, I had 4 of them that just peeled off!  The one peeled
off the very next day!  Visions of me fixing her peeling shellac nails in
an eternity shrouded in HELL swirled thru my mind!  OH NO YOU DON'T my mind
shouted!  I quickly explained that if she were ALREADY experiencing peeling
(meaning, OH BOY DID I EVER HAVE FUN PEELINGTHIS SHELLAC STUFF OFF MY NAILS AND
NOW THERE WILL BE EVEN MORE FUN WATCHING THAT NAIL TECH FIX THEM SO I CAN
PEEL THEM OFF AGAIN!)  I explained that she just might NOT be a good candidate
for the Shellac and that since some had already peeled off, we would not be
able to
re-apply the Shellac to those nails because the surface that the Shellac was
adhering to probably peeled off with the Shellac and now we would have to soak
off the rest of them  and, well, I don't know.. wink wink.. probably just do a
regular plain ole manicure!  Oh, boy was SHE ever shocked!  lol!  She stammered
a few seconds, then I started offering her some appt. times to have the rest
soaked off and a plain ole manicure done.  hehehe!  She scheduled for a
Saturday appt. but then called back later, left a message on my machine that
she forgot she had a tire appt on Saturday.. yea.. right... geesh... I am
thinking she actually DID pick them off, and expected me to re-do them for
free!  NOT!  My mom came in today to have HER Shellac re-done... lets see..
that would be 3 freakin weeks ago I put the stuff on and it was friggin
PERFECT!  With her gardening! and Cleaning!  and scrubbing pots and pans!  And
cooking Easter Dinner!?  Hmph!  I
 am OFFICIALLY:
Tired of being walked on,

Well, Thanks to everyone who has answered so far. I knew I could count on you

LOL...Lorraine...I knew not to soak it off on acrylic... but was curious as to
how hard it would actually be to remove it when it's time.

I just really needed to know weather or not I needed the base coat for sure.

She was loving the fact that it's wearing so much better than polish.

Michelle,

Generally speaking when using UV Gel Polish over acrylic or gels, you
will be filing them off. Soaking UVGP off over acrylic will break down
the acrylic so that's a really bad idea :) No, you don;t need to use
base. Do your final shaping, apply the color layers and cure. In this
case you can top with any gel top coat. If you are only using UVGP, it is
recommended you use a soak off top coat, hard gel top coats might cause
the softer gel underneath to shatter.

NailTech:: Need Help desperately...

2010-07-30 Thread michelle clem
Good Evening Ladies! I need everyone's help.
I have a client that I have been doing gel on.
We were so excited to find something that didn't make her have an allergic
reaction. Yes, she had severe reactions to acrylic.

Blistering and her nails were to the point they were falling off the nail bed.
These were the conditions described to me when she first started coming to me.
And of course she was the type of woman who didn't want to give up her nails.
In
the long run she had to.
Now, she has been coming to me since October and all of a sudden we are having
issues with the gel nails just falling off.

If they are no falling off, they are flaking off and I have never seen gel
flake.

Almost all of my clients are wearing gel and none of them are having these
issues.

I will replace them when she comes for her fills but within 2 weeks the same
thing is going on.
I am using Brisa for now (only because it's readily available to me).
I'm hoping that maybe someone else has experienced this or can tell me what
they
think might be happening.
Thanks ladies!!

I'm nor sure exactly what meds she's on. I know she has arthritis and issues
with her back. She also has very sensitive skin.
I am currently using the Brisa gel from Creative only because I can buy it at

I have to admit though, I'm not a fan. The clear is very cloudy.
I have tried Young Nails and like the brand pretty well. I also loved that
there
was no heat spike with it.

Re: NailTech:: Need Help desperately...

2010-07-30 Thread michelle clem
Her nails are very thin naturally. It's the gel that is flaking off of the
nail. And I have never seen gel flake like this before. It gets crumbly almost.
It's very hard to describe. I'm not seeing any visible signs of another
allergic
reaction other than the gel just not adhering to her nails and the gel
composition changing.
I'm tellin ya it's just the weirdest thing because none of my other clients are
having any issues.

I myself wear the gel and even though I am not fond of the Brisa it holds up
very well on me.

My suggestion is move her to a wrap/dip system. It is probably the
monomer she is having issues with not the powders, so a dip system
like Backscratchers extreme for example might work well on her.

NailTech:: local news report

2010-07-17 Thread michelle clem
So, I came home from my day job yesterday and sat down with my mom. She was
watching the local news. There was a new report out saying that a new concern
about UV rays was out and that consumers needed to be aware that tanning beds
now are not the only way getting harmful UV rays. They were basically saying
that the UV lights that we nail techs use for gel manicures and nail dryers
were
also very harmful. The doctor said that 2 min here 3 min there adds up over
time
and the concentration of UV rays was just as dangerous as going to the tanning
bed.

Hey Pam,

If the bulbs are listed as 4 watt that lamp wouldn't work with any of the
gels in the entire Star Nail Company. 6 watt bulbs are pushing it these days.
They're mostly ok for clear. But anything with a pigment in it (white, color)
definitely needs a 9watt bulb to cure. It doesn't matter if there are several
bulbs. They still will emit only 4 watts just with better coverage. The watts
don't add up with increased number of bulbs despite some of us companies
calling a 36 watt lamp 36. It's actual 4 x 9watt.

There maybe some companies out there that still only need a 4 watt bulb. But
I'd be shocked. That low emit is more like drying topcoat.

Low UV bulbs do appear to cure btw, but microscopically, the gel has uncured
bits and this causes allergic reactions over time.

Hi Teks,
I KNEW I had a nice UV gel lamp around here somewhere! I found it tonight

sale a few years ago. The brand is Au Lame It is a 2 hand unit, so both
hands can cure at the same time. The price list has a retail price of
$219.00. It has a timer, although it is an annoying timer! It actually has
a shrill BEEP when it shuts off! Ew! I've gotta find that beep box and
kill it! You can set the lamp timer for anywhere from 30 seconds to 5
minutes. It has 5 bulbs, and the replacement bulbs are listed as 4 watt. I
wonder if I can upgrade the lamp with better bulbs, although these seem to
work fine. The kit also came with UV gel topcoat for artificial nails, and
UV gel topcoat for natural nails. I tried the artificial nail topcoat on my
nail, and it worked fine to cure the gel. Has anyone heard of this lamp or
this company? I tried a google search and came up with a
 confusing trademark website.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch!

Pati,

I use the chair Sally's sells. It costs like $1100 but I found one on Craigs
List for $200 from a salon that remodeled. It is a stylists chairs set up on a
platform and you use one of the foot baths with it. Ohio board recommends them
for sanitation purposes. You can have the customer up on the throne to work on
them dry or wet.

It works for me because I was on a budget but it's not necessarily for
everyone. To me I can still offer the comfort of the nicer pedi spa chairs
without the expense.

Wow it's slow on here lately..only getting like 2-3 posts a day...I miss y'all!
LOL!

ANYWAY...  I have a question...

I want to get a pedicure chair...I hate the one I have ..it's not a spa it's
the hydraulic chair on a metal base ..with a footrest.  You put a tub on the
base to soak.  Very uncomfortable for me to work on them also.

I *thought* about going with dry pedis...and I wasn't happy with just that.
For some clients that is good...I like working on calloused heels dry, with
product, because I feel like I get better results.  BUT...when working on some
other clients...I felt they needed to soak so I could do their toe work
better.  (My mom  for example...elderly, with knarly toes, thick etc...)
SOI want a spa chair to be able to soak them AND for my comfort...and
theirs. SO...my question iswould you buy a used chair? My hubby wants me to
buy a used one...I don't want to because my feelings are that I do not know how
the previous owner cleaned it and what's growing in there. He says I can clean
it and disinfect it and start new.

What are your feelings about this? I can show him your answers...or maybe you
guys will change my mind... He doesn't want me to charge it and I do not have
the cash for one right now.  I think I will get more pedis also with a pedi spa
set-up.  help!

   Michelle,
Beautytech.com has great info as do Nails and Nailpro sites.
Be very careful about explaining about MMA and nss places. NSS could also be
the upscale salon that everyone raves about and they could be using name brand
products and not MMA.
Just some food for thought.

I use whatever powder I have. Right now I have some glitters from Nailworkz -
Lina is the name I think. I should clarify because I was walking and texting a
few minutes ago:) I used to dip them like Star and Backscratchers teach but
then an educator with Linen Batiste, which no longer exists, showed me a way
that was faster.

She dipped a brush from brush-on resin into the powder just like it was a
regular acrylic brush and put her ball of product down and moved it around a
bit like gel. It hardens up quickly so you have to move fast.

I use Star brush on self activating resin and the Star So Fine spray on gel
cure activator. It makes a pretty sturdy nail and its what I have on right
now. I do a set in under 30 minutes and they soak off uber fast. You could
maintain them, the client just has to oil up twice daily.

I charge 30 dollars for a set and include the soak off. Most of the youngins
who get them will usually (and unfortunately) pick them off so I don't see too
many removals.

I started doing them about 6 or 7 years ago when I was inundated with
princesses who wanted nails for prom and would then being their mothers with
them two days later to try to get their money back because they really didn't
want nice gels. It got so that I dreaded June, lol

I can video it over the weekend if you want to see it.

Welcome to our world :)

If I remember my basics.. Moxie is a little faster set.. retention, a
slower set, can be used without primer or with for the problem
children..solar is the original.. was there no radical also?? that is
also a slower set and needs primer (as does moxie).. I would stick with
retention or radical until you prefect your skills some what..

Us old folk also think it's important to learn one product before you go
jumping around..  also at some point you will find a product that
works WITH you not against you.. take a product related class or get a
DVD... learn the system start to finish..

psyched! I really would like to get an efile but would like to know if
there are any good, cheap ones out there? I know cheap will not last

NailTech:: Re: Tammy Taylor sok off gels

2009-09-26 Thread michelle clem
the soak off gels are not really intended for extra length because they are too
flexible. they are intended for the gel main's and bling on the toes. akzentz
has both a traditional gel and soak off.

Ladies - Can you do pink and whites with the TT product? If so, how is the
white lasting, no chipping? I have been looking for a gel product myself, but
have been out of the loop for some time (Just getting back onto this list after
a couple of years). I had heard that the Akenz product is also nice, but I like
the idea of a soak off gel product.

Sorry I've been a little out of the loop, it's been a crazy couple of weeks.  i
have the soak off gels.  the Kit was $95 and can do 300 sets of nails.  you can
use any 36watt lamp too!!!  i did my toes for the summer with bling they lasted
for 2 months (then I got tired of them and removed them).  i just did a full
set of overlays on one of the hair stylists at work and so far so good.  she
has pseriosis on her thumbs which causes deep ridges and you can't tell with
the gel on.  They are the easiest gels I've tried  If you are just going to
buy the clear gel you need the bond-it and clean-it too.  I love the gel files
TT has too!!!

nope, she doesn't do sample kits, but it's a one-component gel so you could get

I LOVE IT!

No seriously! I am actually so surprised at how much I love it. I'm not a big
fan of soak-off gels but I had to get Tammy's new gel just because it took so
long for her to introduce one.

So about a month ago I did my left hand. Just 2 coats of the peaches and cream
gel. LOVE the color! Very natural on my nails. But I'm left handed, so I did
not expect great results from it.  For one thing, it being soak off and all, I
was thinking there was no way it would last more than a couple of days whatwith
the acetone for polish removing, etc. Also, I have (had) yet to find one of the
rubberized, soak-off gels that didn't peel away at the free edge.

So. 2 weeks later I still had the gel on my left hand. It still looked
stunning. It had NOT peeled at the FE and although it did eventually start to
lift just in the corners where I hold my acetone-drenched cotton pads-- it was
easy enough to just buff those little corners of those two nails down a tad.

Unfortunately, since I had only done one hand, the nails on my left hand are
now much longer than the nails on my right hand! So two weeks ago, I gently
buffed off the gel and redid BOTH hands with the natural pink gel. It's been
two weeks-- SAME results, with just a tad bit of melting away where I hold the
cotton pads, and the nails on my right hand are starting to catch up with the
ones on my left hand.

This stuff rocks! Even my pickiest critic is loving it! It's everything I was
hoping YN's Mani-q would be. (I ended up being disappointed with mani-q) AND I
love that TT's gel is available in semi-transparent colors. Very natural
looking and great shine. Very flexible. It's not a product for doing
extensions, it makes a great gel manicure product.

Now, if it would just come in a line of gel polish

Anyone who is interested in connecting with each other on Facebook, if you'd
like to
send
me your email address,  I will put together a list of all of us, and send it
to each person who sent me their address.  That way we won't clog the list.

Hope I explained it rightdid it make any sense?

Just send me an email privately (susanm...@hotmail.com), put facebook list in
the subject line, and at the end of each day, if there are any new people to
add, I'll email everyone and let them know.

How's that sound??

I also agree with Diana. You are not getting 80% if you also have to pay $50 in
rent. I would say one or the other. And if you did pay her 20% of you earnings,
is there a cap, Like up to $300 or 500 a month? Once you reach the cap then you
don't have to pay anymore for that month. You should have a time period for
this kind of rent, like 6 months or a year. Then it should go to straight
rent. If I were a salon owner and was faced with this situation, I think I
would want 30% of your total intake up to and not over set rent amount and you
supply all supplies, adv ect...for booth rent, and a set time limit on this so
I would know when I could count on my full rent check. JMHO.

Michelle, sorry I don't like it.  It is just so not an IC.  You pay
rent, you buy supplies, you keep money.

I would rather see something like okay, I will do this, while I am
starting out, but when I reach a certain dollar amount, then I want
to switch over to full IC, (increase rent, no extra money given to owner).

What happens when you build a clientele, and all of a sudden she
says, okay your rent goes up to 100 dollars, plus the 20%? Sorry, in
my opinion this is not an IC situation.  diana from indiana

Nail Forms are a must for sculpting nails if the nails are a good length you
want to add more slip form under the free edge and sculpt away many ladies feel
that sculpting is the better way to go saves time not having to tip and they
feel they get a stronger enhancement by using no glue it takes technique to get
it right so practice practice practice : ) Let us know how you do : ) Jennifer

If anyone is using these can you please explain how you got started on using

NailTech:: Re: damn, lost another one, but.......

2009-07-27 Thread michelle clem
While I have most of my clients pre-book, I still have those few, who due to
the ease of walking into a NSS shop just walk in. I don't understand it because
even they complain about having to wait even if you have an appointment. If any
of them have come from an NSS shop they have a different mentality as far as
what a professional salon offers and how they want to take care of their
clients.
I still try an get them to understand when they are in the chair how important
it is to make an appointment. I think they know right now I am not booked up so
they can pretty much just show up and they will be taken care of. I hate it but
I am not willing to possibly lose that new customer. My problem is when someone
comes in, and they are used to going to an NSS shop and see I am the only one
there, they are not willing to come back when I am servicing someone else. I
don't like that either but chances are they do eveyrthing that way on the
fly.
I'm not sure how everyone feels just my observations.

I, too, have noticed this change. I've been doing nails for 23 years and for
all those years I've taken 1 week off in February and 1 week off in August.
Those were my slow times. So predictable that I planned my wedding by it. For
the last 3 years, getting my wedding anniversary week off for vacation has
progressively been like pulling teeth. My slow week has become impossible to
predict. I thought that it was because the date has changed for the first day
of school around here, so families have changed their vacation schedules. But,
my slow time seems to have no pattern anymore. I'll come in to work with 4
people on my book and before the day is out, I'll have done 8 or 9.
Unfortunately, it's gone the other way too. I was looking at doing 5 or 6
people and ended up doing 3.

I've not lost many clients because of the economy, for me it's because my
second largest group of clients are the WWII generation and they are a) dying
or b) moving to retirement apartments and no longer driving. My largest group
of clients are the Baby Boomers, solid, 2 week standing clients. I have
an incentive program to get new referrals that is working very well to get new
young clients in the door, but they are the call when they want an
appointment clients, not 2 week standings.

I have always offered the latest and greatest in service, product and fashion
so I did not notice the change right away. About a year ago when I tried to get
a full week off in August and found it to be impossible is when it hit me. I
checked my old appointment books and found a steady decline of the 2 week
standings (seniors who passed away or moved to assisted living). Just looking
at my bank deposits didn't show it, I was still making the same money, what
changed was the 2 week standings and the last minute appointments ratio.

I do not like this change. It is very hard to get a week off for vacation with
the last minute people. When they call and I can't accommodate them because I
am out of town on vacation (a sign was posted at my station for a month) they
go somewhere else and I never hear from them again. I have lost 1 new client
every year for the last 3 years when I've taken vacation. So, what's the
solution? Never take vacation? RR! I am complaining about this because
I'm taking only 2 days off for my anniversary this year. That's a 4 day weekend
instead of a full 7 days and it's my 20th wedding anniversary :-( ...sad face
is because I cannot take a fabulous vacation with my hubby for our 20th not
because I've been married for 20 years, that's a big :-)

The good news is that it has become very easy to take one day off here and
there. My second job is a belly dancer and a lot of gigs are on a Saturday. In
the past I would have to pass on Saturday gigs, now I have no problem getting
some Saturdays off. Going to the cosmetology convention in Vegas has become
easier, too. 1 Friday and Saturday offpiece of cake. It is just not
possible to take that entire week off. The last minute call ins will wait a day
or two, but not a full week. I'm talking about new people who just get the
basics. Clients who get color gels or glitter gels will wait, they have no
choice, I'm the only game in town ;-)

I'm an optimist and I'm hoping that when the economy improves, the 2 week
standings will come back into fashion and I can take a full week off for my
25th anniversary.

What do you think? Are the 2 week standings a dying breed? Forever a thing of
the past? I'm tearing up :-(

NailTech:: Re: Ideas

2009-05-23 Thread michelle clem
Awe, thanks for asking.
The old owner told me she wished me all the best. The new place is going a
little slow, which I expected. I have had limited funds to get started but used
vista print to my benefit and ordered banners, cards, and what not to get my
name out there. My mom has also been my biggest supporter by passing out my
card to the women at work. I actually have a few appointments today and the
support of the new customers coming in. All in all, I'm sure once everyone
realizes there is a nail business in there again it will just take off.
Joe has told me the other girl who was there had a booming business. So,  I am
patiently waiting and praying. This was the right choice for me and I know it's
all going to work out.

2009-05-06 Thread michelle clem
Well there may be light at the end of this tunnel after all turns out there
is a person who has put an ad on Craigs List for a nail salon for rent.
He owns a tanning salon and has space int he back of his shop. There was a tech
who had it for 10 yrs and got out of the biz so it's up for rent.
I called about it. The guy was super nice. Said it's been board approved and he
would work with me on the $385/mo rent because I have no clients.
Best part is that it's only 15 minutes from home instead of 45.
I am going to check it out today. Wish me luck.

NailTech:: Re: Acetone ignites while client is soaking off nails

2009-04-15 Thread michelle clem
This is a horrible thing to happen. Just one more thing to taint our industry
by people doing stupid things.
At the beginning of the year I had to take a class to get my CE hours. In the
class we talked about acetone and its flash point being so high. I used to heat
acetone as well but learned it's much safer to have the clients just soak in a
bowl with a towel covering so that their own body heat is what is conducting
heat.
The instructor said it's even dangerous to pull the lamp down to heat the towel
over top of the bowl because it could ignite the acetone as well when the towel
is pulled up.
Now, I'm not sure if there is any merit to it but, we all just need to take
extra precautions.
I have heard awesome things about the sonic remover.
Any thoughts?

at Nail Studio, and business is operating as normal while the investigation
continues.???

Broken record here but, everything that can and will go wrong in a salon or spa
starts with human error.  When will people get it through their skulls that I
can do just as much if no more damage with a hand file as I can with an e-file
(when used improperly)!!!  If a car drives up on the sidewalk and hits a person
do we blame the car?  No we blame the driver talking on his cell phone and
adjusting his radio station.

NailTech:: Have to get some opinions, please!

2009-04-07 Thread michelle clem
Ok. So my day at work was little slow. To be expected right? No big deal to me.
I knew it was going to be a little slow getting back into the biz.
Here's what I didn't expect. I have been waiting for this salon to open for 2
months now. I was originally hired as an hourly employee. Which I thought was
odd but great since I wa on unemployment. Now the owner can no longer afford
hourly but wants to do commission.
Ok so no big deal, I am used to commission but she only wants to pay 42%. Now I
have had a license for 12 yrs. and never in the whole time have I ever made
less than 50%.
She also wants to bring in a nail tech who has a clientele. Now, I am supposed
to get the overflow, where before I was going to be the only one so I could
build a clientele.
I have waited for 2 months, drive 45 minutes to work, and kinda feel like all
of a sudden I am getting the shaft some how.
Can you guys please give me your opinions and recommendations.
Thanks,
Michelle

NailTech:: Re: Have to get some opinions, please!

2009-04-07 Thread michelle clem
The owner is supplying product (and crappy product at that) bu,t I don't have a
key, they book the appointments, and I don't even know about retail
commissions. She has never discussed any of this stuff. All I know is I
interviewed in February and she hired me because I had 10 yrs experience. I
have been waiting for 2 months, while she worked out all the kinks with
everything, for her to open. She had me come in Saturday and set up my station
so we could open yesterday. Today I walked into the salon and she had the other
table set up for another tech. I had it set up as a drying station. I had
figured the salon has always been busy before and it would be again.
Maybe I have been to carefree about the whole thing. I mean it has definitely
tested my patience and I could have been out looking for another salon. I
wanted to give it a chance because I thought the owner was so great and then
all this stuff happened today.

Start looking Michelle.  If you are on commission, what do you get for for the
58%?? Do you have to
supply product?  Do you have a key to the place?  Does someone else book your
appointments?
Do you get commission on retail?    Read your state's law on what constitutes
an independent contractor, as you will be responsible for your own taxes.  Why
42%?

42% of nothing it seems. There are definitely no benefits.

Michelle, 42% of what??? There is a salon that I heard about that
paid their people around the 40-45% comm.

BUT, VERY IMPORTANT,  their peds were somewhere around $70(can't
remember other prices, but very high end) and the people got health
insurance, vacation, 401, sick leave, taxes paid etc.  So like
someone else asked, what do you get besides 42%.  If you aren't
getting anything, WOW, I agree, start looking.  so sorry you had to
wait for this.  diana from indiana

NailTech:: Many Questions

2009-03-26 Thread michelle clem
Ok so I haven't had too many replies to my first post.(thanks Pati for the warm
welcome back, you have always been one of my favorite nailtech mentors and
friends)
I haven't been in the biz for over 3 yrs and I'm starting at my new salon on
Monday. I have several questions:

1) I'm thinking of purchasing another e-file. My current U-power needs some
maintenance and I was wondering where I could the best bang for my buck. I have
seen several in the magsPN125 is one I am entertaining and one from RAM
products. Any advice?

2) I used Creative mainly in my other shops and am kinda wondering what
everyone else is using right now. I have been outta the loop for so long and
saw many new products in the mags. I went to a Tammy Taylor class and Im just
not sure I like the way the product works. I mean it's holding up great! But,
the workability is so different from what I am used to.

3) How are stiletto nails formed?

4) What exactly are the MINX nails? Their website is not that informational in
my opinion.

5) Are P/W's still going to be the mainstream of my business?

6) And when did they move the Premier Orlando show to June?

Well, that's all I can think of for now. I feel so out of it and overwhelmed.
Please help me out.
Thanks ladies!!
Michelle Clem

NailTech:: RE:Many Questions

2009-03-26 Thread michelle clem
Thank you so much for your replies.  I can't believe I ever left such a great
group of people. For those of you who don't know... I used to be an active
member here and being a single mom had to leave the industry for awhile. I
couldn't afford to keep up with my bills after a bad break up. Well, after 3
yrs of struggling on my own, it was time to move back home to Ohio. I miss
Florida more than ever but for all intense purposes this was something I needed
to do for me and my son.
I am going back to the only thing that has ever made me happy! NAILS!!
I'm so looking forward to being an active part of the group again and getting
back on track.

Simmy, thank you so much for your answers. I will definitely get in touch with
you about the E-file and I am more than likely gonna end up going back to using
my Creative.

Melody, thanks for the info as well. I didn't find the MINX website that
informative. It left me still with alot of questions about the overall product.

Thank you all for your help so far. I am so excited to get back to doing what I
love the most (other than my son).

NailTech:: Re: Many Questions

2009-03-26 Thread michelle clem
Yes, I will be offering them. I will be providing all services. The name of the
salon is T and C Spa. It's right on Ridge not too far from 480(across from the
Dairy Queen). It used to be called Shear Perfection.
You know what would be awesome a Nail Tech networking day. Maybe it's something
we can work on. What do you think?

Ok Ok. I have been out of the loop for a few years now. I recently got back

What do you charge for just toes? Just fingers? Do you include a mani or
pedi? What do you charge for both mani and/or pedi and minx?
I'm thinking of doing just a mini pedi or mani, as in nail shaping and
cuticle work, and then the minx for $38. Does this seem okay to yall? This
is TN, remember. Do you charge the same for both fingers and toes? We have
to pay the same to purchase it, so I was thinking of keeping the prices the
same. Not married to any of these ideas, though---just would like to see
what everybody else is doing, price wise. I don't want to price myself out
of the ball park, but I want to make a profit.
 Thanks in advance!
