Exactly: Responses are transmitted over the same link that they are
originated.
So that means when a submit_sm is sent (over the transmitter link) the
submit_sm__resp will also be sent to the transmitter link.
If not, you wouldn't even be able to bind successfully.
So Brett is right here.

Thank you!! That worked
Sqlbox doesnt handle dlrs, other than inserting them in the sent_sms
table.
DLRs are routed to the boxc_id that they appear to come from.
So yes, you should be able to insert messages in sqlbox-mt and set the
boxc_id to smsbox.
There is one quick way to see if it works or not
Just try it
A commercial version should also include commercial support. Ask for it with

Urm, not really.
The question was about smppbox, not Kannel as SMPP client.
In this case Kannel is the service provider. Documentation can be made from
the smppbox source tree.
There is a section about what system-type means.

There is no reason for open smppbox not being downloadable in particular,
other than that it is too much a hassle to update the packages there if
something in the source code changes. Development goes fast and until now,
changes are made every week.

The short answer: opensmppbox doesn't support this feature.
Look the archives for the commercial smppbox. I am not really sure of it,
but chances are that that one will work with your setup.

I don’t think this is an option within Kannel.
You will have to patch the source code for that.

Hi,

I added support for PAM authentication in open smppbox.
At the same time, there is a new configuration parameter
use-systemid-as-smsboxid that allows smppbox authenticate to bearerbox as
system-id instead of system-type.
Also documentation has been updated. See userguide (make docs).
version is 37.

I just stole your PAM code and used it for smppbox.
Works like a charm in smppbox. But. not in smsbox!!!
First, the configure script doesn't generate the necessary #define's. After

I'm just thinking of something.
What if you fill in the field boxc_id the value that you have with
sqlbox-id = (in group = sqlbox).
Does that make a difference?

Why don't you just use smsbox to connect?

Nope. What you see is entirely different. send_msg is not sending the DLR to
sqlbox, but rather responding an ACK to the received MT. I don't know if
there is a problem

I reiterate. SQLbox shouldn't have such an error. Your smsbox-route is not
correct, you need to specify smsc-id. Read User's guide about it. You should
still be getting that WARNING.

Yes, open smppbox should correctly fill in the correct type. If it doesn't it
is an error.
But at the same time: If one particular message has an incorrent sms_type. Why
panic? It can just discard the message and go on with normal operation.
