A few days ago you wrote "... but coming from my Christian beliefs ...". You do realize that Christianity (like every other religion) is fundamentally against capitalism, materialism, private property, consumerism, interest rates, etc., etc.? How would you define "Christian beliefs"?

Don't get me wrong, I don't care much about specific religions but I never understood people who state that they are Christians and two sentence later they mention that they find capitalism to be working fairly well? It killed 2*10^9 people. It forces 3*10^9 people into unnecessary systemic anxiety and poverty, it forces 2*10^9 people into doing irrelevant crap (what David Graeber termed "Bullshit Jobs"), it monetizes problems instead of solving them, it wastes 85% of all resources and energy, ... and it induces a spiritually deprived culture of fear, distrust, ego, competition, ...

If you understand that our socioeconomic framework is just the reflection of our average quality of consciousness ... then well, yes, we get what we deserve but one shouldn't say that capitalism is working fairly well with a Christian background? Feel free to drop me an email anytime ... this list already had its fair share of capitalism related offtopicness. ;-)

We differ in that I am okay with capitalism as a system that works fairly well (controversial.) We might discuss this off list.
