For my new app, soon to be released we will be using a ticket based system.

The only way to go, you can outsource it too if your biz really takes off.

There are tons of open source ticket based help desk systems and
zendesk.comis hosted, gets the job done for only $9 a month.

Dump the email support and use a ticket system, it will free you up tons.
Like when a user replies but their email client does not forward the prior
thread. You never want that to happen.

Just my two cents and experience having run some large launches and apps....
