Then we can say: Whether using a CDP or ripper, you are likely to end
up with the same 'errors', or errors in the same places, but not the
exact same 'bits'. 

I think Iphones point was that at least with a media server you know
you're playing the right bits (given a secure rip), whereas unless your
CDP still has error correction indicators, you really don't know.
