Much closer, though the size of the rendered view still differs which
affects performance quite a bit.  If I scrunch the window until they are
same size, there is very little difference on my machine:

-  Away3D give 33 fps
-  Flare3D gives 30-31 fps

I know you say in the text you fixed the viewport sizes to be same, but
they're just not in my IE view of the demos.
