The documentation is HORRIBLE, so I spend most of my time reading the source code to figure out how to make it do things. I jumped the gun on that one - It's an admin command and members won't be able to use it. I'm trying to get this all configured correctly. It's "mostly" there... I just made a few config changes earlier, which I *hope* will get things working the way they should. Thanks for the patience. Went with stock replacements. Maybe I need to look at getting the solid ones. I don't believe that the issue is with any corrosion on the hubs as David suggested, but it's worth a look. I am planning on switching over to the snow tires this weekend, and since I am going to have the tires off anyway, I will look. Not sure about tie rods. Anyway to tell if those are worn by looking at them, or pulling on them? The chase continues! Thanks to all who responded... -Larry I agree with Jon. I just went through this with my e30 325ic. Biggest improvement was moving to solid offset control arm bushings. When these went on I had already installed new control arms, tie rods, shocks and shock mounts (all less than 5000 km earlier). Even with the new components, the complete elimination of all brake shudder combined with the much tighter feel to the steering made me wonder why I waited this long to do it. Finally a local friend confirmed that I had the right torque figure in ft-lbs. So I used an Allen wrench to simply check to make sure the bolts were not loose, and they weren't. I will not be removing the diff's guts to replace the bolts. That is definitely beyond my knowledge base, and I'm not in a mood to experiment.
