Assuming you have the one without the center fold down armrest, there
are two screws (8 or 10 mm heads, depending upon who installed them)
that hold a metal strap downward from the absolute outer edge of the
seatback (seen when the seat bottom is already removed). These are
generally hidden behind a flap of upholstery material, not to make them
hard to find, but to prevent damage to the seat bottom from the head of
the bolt. Some cars with center armrests use an additional screw there
to hold the hole to the partition for the ski bag.

Bentley has pictues.

Lift the seat bottom out. It snaps in to 2 clips at the front & then angles
out.

With the seat bottom out, you can see the two retaining clips on the sides
of the seat attaching it to the body. Remove the bolts/screws from either
side (2) & lift the seat back up & out. The clips are parallel to the
fender & protrude from the bottom of the seat.

5 minutes from start to finish. Tim Ng used to take this out for track
events & autocrosses, I'm pretty sure he's down to about 30 seconds.......

The problem is all you lemmings driving around in your stock, automatic, 6
cylinder grocery-getters. Going to the mall & out to eat & to the
movies......

;^P

Lee
88 M3->not stock, not auto, not a 6, doesn't get groceries (actually,
neither does my other car--I walk to the store!), doesn't go to the mall or
movies or to eat

Has anyone had experience with adding electric trailer brakes on a 2002 X5?
I have a 4.4l with the factory receiver style hitch along with the factory
wiring harness. I would like to add the brakes to tow a track car on an
aluminum trailer.

Thanks,

Patrick Spikes

My lowered '91 E 30 (about 2" drop.. stock e 30m-3 springs) seems to be
chewing its inside front tires. The alignment shop sez the toe is okay,(
total is 3/32", the rec.range is 3/32" to 3/16".) but it has too much
negative camber, like -1.8 degrees on each side, the spec calls for -1.2 to
-.2 degrees. The data sheet says that the total camber is .1 deg, with
a recommended range of -.5 to +.5 so I don't quite understand. Does anybody
know whether you can elongate the strut bolt holes to set the camber.. if
so how much do they need to be moved..Do I need to buy camber plates to use
with 2" drop? Anyone go thru this ? Recommendations? I am getting
scalloping on the inside front tires..can I fix this, or is it a frequent
rotate and live with it problem?

Thanks, David Leonard

Negative camber needs less toe. Reduce toe to about 1/32 total and rotate
tires every oil change, rear cross to front, front straight to rear.

Stiff tires tend to hold up better to camber and toe.

Was this a trick question?

You're not serious, are you? That's some serious Ebay surfing you're doing. Post tax
season lull?

You may be able to save on the pumps, but if you want a pool, you're better off
working with your
local pool company.

For those who haven't noticed yet (sorry if I'm way
late on this, I just realized it this morning), the
archives are back up now! Now I don't have to sound
like a dolt for asking questions that should already
be in the archive. :-P

Happy searching,
