I also checked the brake lining sensor connectors at the pads, and they're also both fine. So it looks like there must be a short somewhere near the instrument cluster itself, so I might just live with it because I really dont like the idea of digging into the dash. Seems like anytime you pull a dash apart you introduce a squeak or rattle, which would annoy me more than the light not working correctly. Sorry about the tire. The pictures as well as the others you sent me are terrific. I almost feel like I made the trip! Honestly, looking at them makes me miss the car but I know it went to a good, no great home. I'm still lurking out here having sold the BMW and MB 300TD, I bought a 98 Ford F150, 5.4, 3"cat back, chip, supercab lariat with a 21' Starcraft fifth wheel trailer attached to it. Selling out in CA and moving to ID. Now I have to go out and listen to the music that comes out of the Fords tailpipe and try to get the scab back on the wound of selling my 535. He attired in an Armani suit (long sleeves, natural fibers), Gucci loafers, and an open face helmet. The car is filled with dirt and grass, with bits of turf around the wheel wells and under the bumper. INSTRUCTOR is in the right seat, curled in the fetal position, quivering like a dog going to the veterinarian. INSTRUCTOR is attired in a custom SPARCO racing suit that is "ice blue" with white chest ruffles and a darker blue bow tie embroidered on the collar. JULES, who has volunteered to work the hot pits to avoid squishing the oil out of his jeri curls, is standing next to the open driver's window, with a megaphone in his hand. JULES Whatsamatter? Did you find yourself in some difficulty with all those fancy traction controls turned off?! DRIVER I. JULES Would you describe for me what brad barber looks like? The Driver can't speak. Jules SNAPS, SAVAGELY TIPPING the pulling opening the driver's side door, removing the only barrier between himself and the Driver. The Driver now sits in a lone chair before Jules like a political prisoner in front of an interrogator. JULES What country you from! DRIVER (petrified) What? JULES "What" ain't no country I know! Do they speak English in "What?" DRIVER (near heart attack) What? JULES English-motherfucker-can-you-speak- it? DRIVER Yes, in fact I am English. JULES Then you understand what I'm sayin'? DRIVER Yes. JULES Now describe what brad barber looks like! DRIVER (out of fear) What? (Jules deftly dials the iDrive knob, selecting KONSTRICT mode for the driver's side seat belt.) JULES Say "What" again! C'mon, say "What" again! I dare ya, I double dare ya motherfucker, say "What" one more goddamn time! Now describe to me what brad barber looks like! (The Driver does his best.) DRIVER Well he's ...he's...I'm not really sure. I was really hoping that everyone would have nametags. JULES (Nodding toward the cowering mass in the passenger seat) Brad barber is your instructor, motherfucker. Does he look like a bitch?! DRIVER (without thinking) What? (Jules rolls his eyes and turns the iDrive knob, exploding the airbag into Driver's face. The Driver SCREAMS, breaking into a SHAKING/TREMBLING SPASM.) JULES Does-he-look-like-a-bitch?! DRIVER (Uncertain how to answer, given brad's "unconventional driving attire) No. JULES Then why did you make him cry like a bitch?! DRIVER I didn't. JULES Yes ya did Driver. Ya made him cry like a little bitch. You ever read the Bible, Driver? DRIVER (in spasm) Yes. JULES There's a passage I got memorized, seems appropriate for this situation: Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." Now get back out there and try to keep it on the track. (Jules mumbles into his handheld radio, and the big 7 begins to roll down the pit lane, gathering speed. INSTRUCTOR vainly turns and presses the iDrive, trying to unlock his door, but is unsuccessful. The shot closes on INSTRUCTOR's wide eyes looking balefully out the back window, like a child on the back of the bus leaving for camp, as the car accelerates onto the main straight, nearly creasing the door of a red 911, and causing a near accident as it ignores the blend line.) I don't much like the Clown Vic as a car, but the fact is that it doesn't have a bad real-world record. And any time the press starts quoting Clarence Ditlow or Joan Claybrook they've immediately lost my attention. For XBox, Project Gotham Racing 2 is excellent, and has the Nordschleife. Microsoft is also going to release Forza Motorsport for XBox soon, and it has Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta, Road America, as well the Nordschleife. For PS2, Gran Turismo 4 has a bunch of Japanese tracks as well as the Nordscheife, Laguna Seca, and Sears Point (Infineon). Both Forza and GT4 also have the outlawed V8 M3 GTR, but you probably have to win a bunch of races to unlock the car, as well as some of the tracks. Grand Prix Legends was suggested, but beware that this game only runs on Windows 95/98. Were there particular tracks you were interested in? --Andre ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Mar 2005 19:23:16 GMT From: "Marc Plante" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Subject: Re: Road racing games Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Grand prix legends has great physics and some great after market tracks. Specific application I have in mind is the front-wheel drive shafts on a 1988 325IX . The boots are those where you dont have to remove the shaft to replace the boot ...they are split lengthwise and held to gether with various forms of clamps and screws. Used for temporary cover of the joints when time doesnt allow for that factory-perfect remove/replace repair routine . Years ago there werent any BMW -specific applications ...I seem to remember using V W bus units in a pinch on a 2002 one time . Anyone else BTDT and got a good part-number ...?? Used one of these about 15 years ago on a Mazda, worked perfectly for at least the next two years (until the car went on to better things) and saved me the several hundreds that a new halfshaft would have cost on that car. - Rob On Mar 13, 2005, at 6:05 PM, BMWBits wrote: > Does anyone have a good aftermarket part number for the split rubber > boots that can be used to temporarily cover the CV joints etc on > drive-shafts (half-shafts ).
