They have over 50% of tread (measured this weekend). I replaced them with 245x40x18 tires to match the OD of my 540i rear tires. I paid about $250 each for them last Fall. I'm thinking they should be worth $100 each but will take the best offer. They are in Portland, OR. You'll still hear "tonic" now and then up in Revere and thereabouts, but most of the mom-and-pop (no pun intended) spas died out years ago in favor of the 7-11's and gas-station mini-marts. ___________ Hah! I worked in a "spa" (pronounced "spahhhh") and sold "tonic" ("tahwwnick") back in college. What's amazing about Greater Boston is that the ahcksent will vary, discernibly, depending on whether one is from Southie (South Boston), the South End (of Boston), Revere (Reveeahh), Medford (Meffa), Somerville (Slumerville), 02139 Cambridge (the people's republic), Cambridgeport (not so much the people's republic), and even more distant places, like Woburn (Woooburn) or New Hampshah. Do you drink from a bubbler (bubblah) or a cooler or water fountain? Use an elastic or rubber band? Do you order a grinder, sub, hoagie or sandwich on a bulkie? Use a remote or clicker to change channels? Buy your beer (beeah) at the liquor store or packie? Sip your milkshake or frappe? Jimmies or sprinkles on your ice cream? Store stuff in your cellar or basement? All of the above will vary from TOWN to TOWN. Welcome to Boston. Now go home! Wicked pissah! This site came up, but it seems to indicate (to me anyway) that he did do the software. I however, was a little misled into looking for a "Conforti" or "Bonneville" supercharger kit. > > look at the JimC kit & the information about it & get back to us. > Jim knows his sh!t. Yes, yes, like I said, I've got one of his chips in my car. That looks like quite a nice kit. I notice that there's no price listed there, so I'm assuming I'm in "if you have to ask....." territory here. One's also recommended to buy their clutch kit. While it ultimately produces more power, it will likely cost more than the S54 coupe, and like Gary said, won't be able to approach it's durability. If you've got money though, it looks really nice and probably costs less than trying to figure out how to shoe-horn a V8 in there....... > > Ben Lee ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Mar 2005 09:16:26 -0500 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Subject: Eurosport/Conforti twin screw supercharger Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I've been beta-testing Eurosport's twin screw for almost a year. At this point, have just over 15,000 miles on it -- which includes the '04 One Lap (where, with co-driver Woody Hair, we had a class win), 6-7 drivers schools and 15 autoxes. With the exception of some very mild Schrick cams, motor is entirely stock and has behaved flawlessly. With 7 1/2 - 8 psi peak boost, has 362 rwhp and 293 ft-lbs (SAE on a Dynojet). Power is very linear and controllable with over 260 ft-lbs torque at 2,500 rpm. Feels much closer to a big V-8 than it does to a turbo or a centrifugal supercharger. Runs fine on 91 octane. Be pleased to discuss it further here or offline. Timetables are so very important when launching a new product in the market. I almost wish they hadn't announced anything without giving a valid date that the 'market' should expect availability. A few old reviews and vidclips can only take you so far before interest starts to diminish and then you find something\somewhere else to spend that $$ on. Yes, I generally agree, but it doesn't have six throttle bodies like an S54 which is what all the purists claim is necessary to have an M badge... :-) Later, Rich '95 330is '90 325is '91 318is ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Mar 2005 12:28:02 -0500 From: "Robinson, Lee SEA" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Eurosport/Conforti twin screw supercharger Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Yes, I generally agree, but it doesn't have six throttle > bodies like an S54 which is what all the purists claim is > necessary to have an M badge... > > :-) > > Later, > > Rich I saw some BMW marketing show on speed that said that quad tailpipes were an M car trademark....
