Has the Digest been quiet? Or is it me?
I can't believe there isn't anyone who hasn't broken anything...
I bought the Intake gaskets for the 750... $75bux ea....times 4!! And the
PCV valves with grommets...$75...times 2!
I love it, it's like maintaining 2 e36's simultaneously!
I got lucky on the transmission, code said too much slippage (I forget the
exact code but it said something about slipping), and the console switch
would return the "M" mode after selecting "A". If I held it at "A" and
started moving it would stay in "A" but return to "M" as soon as I came to a
stop. I tried disconnecting the switch after I got on the roll (of course I
did this from the passenger seat ;-)and lo and behold the transmission works
as advertised! Upon examining the switch I discovered the underside was all
sticky! I got lucky on this one, that tranny is a pretty penny!
Cheers!,

Minor curb surfing accident in the 2001 330i. Broke the inner fender
liner on the front passenger side. Not a big deal ($35 part),
however... Part of the liner is missing and I have 2 green wires with
a yellow stripe on them that are severed and dangling... Can't see
anything obvious as to where these go. Anyone have any ideas?
Everything seems to be working except that I noticed it doesn't dip the
passenger outside mirror when I put in reverse anymore...

Front passenger side? Well, aside from the fact that your mirror doesn't
dip anymore (is the mirror adjustment switch positioned correctly?), I
suspect that it's your outside temperature sensor. What does it read?

Don't know about the mirror switch I'll have to check that! But the
temp sensor and foglights both work. They look like they would conect
to something lower than the foglight. The wires are sort of a "neon"
-ish green (like a green highlighter for lack of a better description)
with a yellow stripe. Definitely factory as they are wrapped in the
harness. Badly mangled like they were torn off and dragged. I believe
all the lights work, the only one I would not be positive about would be
that side indicator lamp on the passenger side, but front and rear turn
signals definitely work...

Hmmm... More speculation. Have you tried your windshield washer? Maybe it
powers the pump? Or it's the sensor that detects the level of washer fluid?
Is the washer tank mounted in that position on an E46?
To check the side indicator lamp, just turn on your hazard flasher.

Windshield washer nozzle heater temp switch? The mirror switch has to be
set to the passenger side for the reverse dip to work.

I think they do, but I'm not positive... I'll have to investigate some
more tonight after work!

The jets will still work if the heater switch is broken.

If it also broke the forwardmost part that tucks under the front

other is the heated washer/mirror one. I don't have the wiring

The mirror dipping may not be related; have you checked the position
of the mirror adjust switch?

Damn , I wish when I worked there that Boeing had known you customers didnt
want the lowest priced airplane to provide the lowest priced tickets . They
could've tripled the price -and my salary ....and my retirement pension we

I am the first to complain about America's 'race to the bottom' in lots of
things -like morals and services - but am the last to criticize a company
that develops one of the best distribution networks for a huge plethora of
products and then makes money with it .I wonder if you all dont bother to
check the price of gas at each station when there's three of them together
.....it ALL goes thru the same national pipeline network and ALL belongs to
the Seven Sisters (BIG oil companys ) so it's pretty close to the same stuff
at every station...d'you just rush into the highest priced one ? ..
The simple fact that Wallyworld is selling off alum'n jacks for half-price
doesnt make them junk , it simply means they want that retail space for the
flowers your S O is going to plant soon , so they'll take a hit to do it .
I wonder how many of you snuck into W today and snapped one up while nobody
was watching ?? .....heh!!
Beepee .....bargain hunter ..sometimes.
