the only "required" liquids are the ingredients in the lemonade, which
actually don't taste bad at all. there's a recommended salt water
flush that i don't do... tried it once. can't. but i do drink a
laxative tea at night to help push out the bad stuff.

2 reasons. 1) i need results by february 23rd. 2) i am an instant
gratification whore. after day 1, i had lost 2.5 lbs. to me, that
excites me and motivates me to keep going.

one of the big reasons i first chose to do this was because of the way
Robin endorsed it. there's no product to buy, so i figured she didn't
have any ulterior motive (unless lemon growers or the maple syrup
industry was giving the stern show some kickbacks). from what i
understand (and i am not a nutritionist), the combination of the
lemon, cayenne pepper, and syrup give you the vitamins and nutrients
that your body needs during the time you're on the fast.

that's the key right there. obviously if i go back to eating as i
please and exercising infrequently to never, it's all going to come
back (and then some). like i said... right now this is about instant
gratification. a few months back i hired a personal trainer and we
went out walking/running every morning (and i am *so* not a morning
person). i made a concerted effort to start eating right. and yeah,
i dropped a few pounds. but nothing noticable. i know it would have
taken time... but being the instant gratification person that i am, i
just found myself getting discouraged too easily.

i have no idea how much more i'll lose in the next 8 days. but
already, aside from seeing 9.5 lbs less on the scale, i see a
difference in my face. it's no longer as round as it used to be.
those are results, and results motivate me. i'm *hoping* that there
will be enough motivation for me to make the necessary changes to my
diet (and over the past year i have been eating better... not 'good'
yet, but better) and do some exercise (i did buy the chicometrics
dvd).

the difference will be that it won't be a matter of trying to attain a
specific result and getting discouraged when that result takes time.
it will be maintaining a change that i'm happy with, and not wanting
to go back to having a round face :)

is it extreme? yes. it pretty much blows. i'd love a huge greasy
burger right about now. but i think that in 8 days, i'll be so happy
to chew on solid food that carrots and celery and good stuff will be
VERY welcome :)
