We can agree to disagree here.

Not since "The New Deal" has the federal government really tried to deal affectively
with the root causes of poverty. In addition, the bloated buracracies that have grown
around many of the federal programs have become a jobs program in and of themselves.
Employees in these programs that I have dealt with were more concerned with keeping
thier jobs than with solving the problems they were hired to solve.

Not all of these charities do. Very few that I have dealt with have ulterior motives.
To group all religious charities into such a basket is insulting to the hard working
members of the ones which really care and want to help others, of which I am one.
