I agree Beth. I think where we differ is how that is accomplished. I think you need to make these people more productive members of society, educate them. We both agree it needs to be done, I think we differ obviously how it is accomplished. Plus remember there will always be classes, a classless society is a pipe dream. However, I think with the right types of policies and help you can help to lessen the gap between the classes.

Very few that I have dealt with have ulterior motives. To group all religious charities into such a basket is >insulting to the hard working members of the ones which really care and want to help others, of which I am one. You are probably correct, that it IS insulting, and I apologize. I worked for a charitable catholic organization which was mostly focused on helping poor and sick folks. But that doesnt' make it right. Lets put it this way, its certainly not the Catholic Church's job to rebuild the unhealthy culture of Alaska Natives, now is it? Nor is it really appropriate. Its our society as a wholes' responsibility to take care of our own messes. ______________________________________________________________________ Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
