You are probably correct, that it IS insulting, and I apologize.  I worked
for a charitable catholic organization which was mostly focused on helping
poor and sick folks.   But that doesnt' make it right.

Lets put it this way, its certainly not the Catholic Church's job to rebuild
the unhealthy culture of Alaska Natives, now is it?  Nor is it really
appropriate.  Its our society as a wholes' responsibility to take care of
our own messes.
