Okay, my turn. I was on gleevec for 5 years and experienced all the
side effects you all mentioned. My oncologist dropped me down to 300
mg after a 10 week break because the side effects were so bad. They
seemed to be less frequent but more intense. I switched to tasigna a
little over a year ago and guess what? At first, no side effects.
Now, a year later, every one of the same symptoms is there. The
intensity may be less but they are there just the same. You are right
Ricardo, it is the person. I think we all have our weak areas that
drugs affect. I have never had nausea but the cramping, tinitus in the
ear, vertigo, water retention, rash all over both legs, ( and Bob, the
foot/leg cramp was the worst! SIts me right up out of bed crying!).
I think it is the way our bodies process the drug.....
Sorry to rain on the parade Jeff. I am experiencing all the same side
effects I did on gleevec..
